Zambezi River Safari

Safaris on the Stunning Zambezi River

a Safari with a difference

Get in touch with us to organise a half-day, full-day or multiple-day African river safari! You’ll have a private boat with a knowledgeable and experienced local guide to take you on your Zambezi River adventure. Learn about the interesting and sometimes chequered history of the Zambezi, interspersed with fascinating facts and knowledge about the inter-dependant flora and fauna that you’ll be cruising past, while your guide skilfully avoids the hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat!

Bespoke River Safaris

Most of our African river trips take place in the beautiful Victoria Falls region of Zimbabwe – on the upper Zambezi above Victoria Falls. However, we specialise in unique and bespoke African experiences. So, if you have another destination in mind, or would like to combine a river safari with a fishing trip, please do get in touch with us to discuss it.

Meet your River guide

Your local guide, in most cases, be the owner of Umdingi Safaris himself, Clint.

Clint is a Zimbabwe local with extensive knowledge of the local area and 8 years of experience as a fishing guide on the Zambezi. And this means you’ll get more than just an average fishing trip.

You’ll also be taking part in a river safari while you fish. You’ll get to know the indigenous flora and fauna, and hear stories about the Zimbabwean locals.

Things to note before you go on the river

Your safety is our utmost priority – we take every care to keep you safe and fully brief you on how to help us do this before your trip.

Please ensure you bring plenty of sun cream as well as making sure skin is covered by hats, long sleeves and long trousers.

You should wear light, breathable fabrics to avoid overheating.
Avoid wearing bright colours – stick to tans, khaki, and natural shades of green or brown.
Everyone has a dream animal in mind that they’d like to see on safari. And whilst we do everything in our power to help make this happen, catching a glimpse of the majestic lion or elephant is often down to patience and luck. However, even if you don’t see exactly what you came for, we guarantee truly life-changing experience.
