River Safari

Zimbabwe river safaris on the stunning Zambezi River

Take to the water in an African river safari

Here at Umdingi Safari, we don’t just stick to the land. We also help you take to the water in a half-day, full-day or multiple-day African river safari! Hire a private boat with an experienced local guide to take you on a Zambezi river adventure.

Private boat trips

You’ll set off on a small private boat, away from the busier areas with your own private guide. Together, you’ll see hippos wading along, and elephants coming to the water to drink. You’ll also spy sinister crocs hiding in the water, and become surrounded by the breath-taking birdsong of the local birds. Your local guide is there to tell you about all of the local flora and fauna, on this spectacular Zimbabwe river safari.

Bespoke Zimbabwe fishing trips

Most of our African river safari trips take place in the beautiful Victoria Falls region of Zimbabwe – on the upper Zambezi. However, we specialise in unique and bespoke African experiences. So, if you have another destination in mind, please do get in touch with us to discuss your needs. We’ll make your dream adventure a reality!

Let us ask you some questions

N
Are you looking to glide down the beautiful Zambezi river?
N
Do you want to avoid the crowded areas and experience a true wilderness safari?
N
Have you always dreamed of getting closer than ever before to the wild animals that call Zimbabwe their home?

Meet your Zimbabwe river safari guide

Your local guide, in most cases, be the owner of Umdingi Safaris himself, Clint.

Clint is a Zimbabwe local with extensive knowledge of the local area and 8 years of experience as a fishing guide on the Zambezi. And this means you’ll get more than just an average fishing trip.

You’ll also be taking part in a river safari while you fish. You’ll get to know the indigenous flora and fauna, and hear stories about the Zimbabwean locals.

N
You should wear light, breathable fabrics to avoid overheating.
N
Avoid wearing bright colours – stick to tans, khaki, and natural shades of green or brown.

And whilst we do everything in our power to help make this happen, catching a glimpse of the majestic lion or elephant is often down to patience and luck.
