Zambezi National Park is 57,000 hectares of beautiful landscape that has an incredible variety of Diurnal and Nocturnal mammals. As it is in close proximity to Victoria Falls, this is an incredible opportunity to get away for a night or two. The terrain of Zambezi National Park differs; the Zambezi river makes up the whole of the northern border, while going south it changes into open grass areas, mixed woodlands and hills. There is only a handful of private lodges and camp sites available in the park, keeping a real charm about this special place. Zambezi National Park like most of our other parks are ‘best kept secrets’!

Camping along the Zambezi River on your first night is a great way to begin the adventure; a mere one hour from Victoria Falls, it’s a great way to get out of the town and straight into the wilderness of the Zambezi National Park. Underneath the evergreen Natal Mahoganies our camp for the night will be situated, which will provide our refuge from the mid-day heat. Hippos basking in the shallows of the flowing river will be our closest neighbors for the evening. Sunset along the river will be enjoyed along with a chilled glass of wine or a gin and tonic. Dinner around the fire this evening will most certainly be an enjoyable experience with the nocturnal mammals now out and about feeding and keeping us entertained with all their evening calls.

Day 2

Game Drive and Transfer to Chamabondo Vlei

Mornings along the river are always spectacular with the sunrise and a mug of hot coffee to begin the day. We will pack up camp and spend the rest of the morning exploring the terrain. As lunch approaches, we will head for the river side once again, and under the shadiest trees we will prepare a fresh lunch, with ice-cold drinks. A short siesta after lunch which gives time to reminisce over the last 24 hours in one of the hammocks or remain where you are with a book in hand and a glass of wine in the other. A word of advice, make sure that your binoculars are close by, as with everything out in the wilderness, anything can happen at any time. After a cup of tea and biscuits, we will continue on our way to Chamabondo, and by sunset we will be in our new campsite for the evening; situated opposite a water hole, you could be in for an interesting evening with all the visitors that like to come and have a drink of water. A scrumptious supper freshly prepared on the roaring fire by your guide under the star-lit night sky completes the spectacular day.

Day 3
