Zambezi Fishing

African fishing trips in the beautiful Zimbabwean wilderness

Zambezi fishing experiences with Umdingi

Introducing the Umdingi Safaris Zambezi fishing experience. Travel the upper Zambezi River (one of the largest rivers in Africa) in the beautiful Victoria Falls region. Commandeer your own private fishing boat, accompanied by an expert local fisherman with extensive knowledge of the local flora, fauna and culture of Zimbabwe. And ultimately, enjoy exclusive private fishing in the secluded African Wilderness.

Back to the wilderness

Have a picnic on a private island, completely untouched by man. Tie up a hammock and enjoy a nice, cold beer on the Zambezi. See the majestic elephants bathing in the cool waters, the intimidating crocodile hiding just below the surface, and the chattering monkeys eating fruit from the trees. And of course, experience Zimbabwe’s world-renowned tiger fishing in secluded spots.

Things to note before you go fishing

N
All Umdingi fishing trips are sustainable to support and respect our home, the beautiful Zimbabwe – we only offer catch-and-release fishing trips.
N
Your safety is our utmost priority.
N
The best months for African fishing on the Zambezi are August to November. These months have 90% chance of clear, blue skies and no rain.
N
Our Umdingi fishing trips are designed for people with at least some fishing experience. Of course, we can accommodate beginners. However, please bear in mind that a complete beginner will need more than just an afternoon of fishing to get to grips with the activity. Consider booking a longer African fishing trip if you are more inexperienced as you may need more time to learn.
N
Whilst we always carry extra sunscreen, please bring your own sun protection.
N
Ensure to wear long-sleeves and long trousers in light, flowy materials to avoid overheating or burning – or bring a shawl or cover for exposed skin.
N
Please bring a hat for sun protection.
N
Whilst we do everything in our power to help you catch the type of fish you’ve set your heart on, any experienced fisherman knows that often this comes down to luck! However, we guarantee that even if you don’t see the fish you came to catch, you will have an absolutely unforgettable experience.
