You haven’t truly experienced an African safari unless you’ve immersed yourself in the natural habitat. Think sleeping under the stars listening to the roar of lions, waking up to the sounds of the Zimbabwe wilderness and settling next to the fire for tea, coffee and a freshly cooked breakfast prepared by our in-house local chefs. Meet your expert African safari guide

Umdingi is run by our very own Zimbabwe wildman, Clint – a born adventurer and Zimbabwe local. He grew up exploring Zimbabwe the way it was meant to be enjoyed – away from the busy tourist traps and with an adventurer’s spirit!

And as Umdingi bookings are so exclusive, Clint is able to accompany most of the trips that are booked. His vast knowledge of the local flora, fauna and culture, as well as his impeccable hosting abilities will make you feel right at home in the African wilderness.

What’s included in our Zimbabwe boat trips?

Choose from half-day full-day or multi-day African river cruise packages.
We most commonly offer a Zambezi river cruise, however we can arrange for African river boat trips further afield.
Half-day African river boat trips are five hours (choose from sunrise – midday or afternoon – sunset).
Half-day trips include one packed meal, snacks and drinks.
Multi-day trips are all-inclusive – all food, beverages, camping equipment and transport will be provided.
You’ll be accompanied by a local expert African river cruise guide.
Multi-day trips are all-inclusive. They typically include a luxury camping package, where hot water showers, all cutlery and dining apparatus, as well as all food and drinks will be provided. However, we can also arrange alternative accommodation for your stay.

Some things to note before you go on a Zambezi boat trip

Your safety is our absolute priority. Your guide will be there to keep you safe and make sure that you have a truly unforgettable experience.

Make sure to bring plenty of skin-cover – sunhats, long sleeves, sarongs etc. But bear in mind it will be very hot, so loose, flowing fabrics like cotton.

Bring a camera if you’d like, but please no flash.
