Ethical zimbabwe cultural experiences and community visits

Become a part of local communities with our Zimbabwe cultural experiences

Here at Umdingi, we’re passionate about ethical tourism. We want people to see the true Zimbabwe and experience all of the wonders our beautiful country has to offer. So, as well as our safari and wildlife trips for adrenaline-seekers, we also offer a variety of Zimbabwe cultural experiences.

Live like a Zimbabwean with Umdingi

We’ll accompany you to a local village where you’ll get to know local families and communities. You’ll also fully immerse yourself into the life of a Zimbabwean local. And you’ll do everything that they do on a day-to-day basis.

From collecting wood or water from a pump, helping to cook dinner on an open fire, to visiting communities and schools. Even helping local workers with building projects, farming or selling their wares. You’ll be accepted into the community by the warm, hospitable people that call Zimbabwe their home in a truly unforgettable trip.

Let us ask you some questions

N
Are you looking for a way to give back to the community of Zimbabwe?
N
Would you like to be immersed in a world completely different from your own?
N
Would you like to spend time with and get to know a local Zimbabwe village or family?

Ethical tourism – meeting Zimbabwe locals

Here at Umdingi, we’re Zimbabwean locals ourselves. So, we want to do our part to give back to the local communities we call our home. And we want tourists to experience the real, authentic Zimbabwe – not just the glossy tourist areas. Because we know that there is just as much beauty in the less-travelled path – if not more!

Giving back to the community

Please note that our Zimbabwe cultural experiences are not designed to make a profit. You’ll pay upfront for your guide’s time and support. However, we ask that you bring the rest of the money for this experience to give directly to the locals that you’ll visit. So, whether you visit a school, village, or someone’s home, your fee for the trip will go directly to them.

This is truly a humbling experience. You’ll be able to experience a world completely different to the one you live in. No iPhones, no TVs, and living with only the bare necessities. Yet you’ll still be welcomed with open arms as part of the community. We recommend our Zimbabwe cultural experiences particularly if you’re travelling with children, as it truly is an eye-opening experience you’ll never forget.

So, he’ll accompany you on your Zimbabwe cultural visit to help you get the most out of your experience. And as we only offer bespoke, private trips here at Umdingi, you’ll have complete access to your guide at all times.

Giving back to the Zimbabwe community

On one of our Umdingi cultural experiences, you’ll be welcomed into the communities and often the homes of local Zimbabwe residents. And therefore, we ask all of our adventurers to bring at least a small token of their appreciation.
